A note from the photographer:

Yankee Boy Basin is one of my favorite places to photograph in Colorado. However, it is also one of the most difficult. Coupled with hundreds of visitors and grumpy weather, it can make photographing a bit difficult.
This particular image was no exception. I spent six hours waiting for the light to cooperate. Either it was overcast with dark heavy clouds and pouring down rain, swarming with visitors, or when the clouds would part, the light would be too harsh from the sun. The first day I waited patiently for four hours while the clouds played games with me and the second day, the day of the actual photograph, I waited for another two hours before I was able to get the picture.
It pays to be persistent when photographing, but it sure does take a lot of patience!
